GASTEC at CRE (GaC)

As you would imagine, we are ruled by our devotion to quality - it is at the heart of everything we do.

We are UKAS accredited and operate as a Notified Body [click here to see our EU listing] under the Construction Products and Boiler Efficiency Directives within the European Union.

We are a founding and Board member of LABTQ - the European Association of Independent Test Laboratories

We operate our own comprehensive quality procedures that are audited by, amongst others:-

In addition, our operation & management of the SEDBUK boiler efficiency database provides for audits by BRE.

Our Quality Manual establishes the GaC ethos towards quality as the following excerpt shows:

"It is the policy of the Directors of GASTEC at CRE Limited that the service provided to clients by Testing Services shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of UKAS accreditation for all tests for which such accreditation is held.
Furthermore, should the standard range of services offered be extended, it is the policy that the principles of UKAS accreditation shall be applied as soon as is practicable and that formal accreditation shall be sought without undue delay.
For any projects carried out on an ad-hoc, or one-off basis, the general principles contained within this Quality Manual shall be adhered to in so far as they can apply to such work.
At all times, and for all projects, the following areas must be maintained at the highest levels:-
  1. technical and commercial integrity;
  2. compliance with specified levels of accuracy;
  3. careful observation and accurate recording."

  • Document review procedure;
  • Knowledge management processes and procedures;
  • Resourcing plans;
  • Approvals process;
  • Data protection;
  • Details of internal and external programme audits

GaC has received many testimonials about the quality of its work and prides itself on its high level of repeat custom. All reports are subject to internal technical review and with respect to service delivery structure, we always aim to achieve the highest service quality criteria.
